Sex and the City Movie - Fashion Review
By Alexandra Zeb
As any Manhattan-dwelling fashionista is required to do, I grabbed my girls and hit the cinemas to see the new Sex and the City Movie (but not before sipping a few cosmos at a cheeky lounge). The movie was everything I hoped it would be, the plotline stayed true to the characters, the jokes had me rolling, love was in the air, and last but not definitely not least, the fashion was unreal!
In the very opening scene Sarah Jessica Parker is back in action, donning a gorgeous (and so Carrie) oversized gold flower dress and Christion Dior gladiator sandals, which are so very IN right now. I'm forever keeping my eye on the tinier details, and also noticed her small yellow leather clutch purse and gold cuff bracelet, which are an absolute must-have right now.
My ultimate favorite scene had to be when Carrie does a Vogue spread for her big wedding day. She poses in the most unbelievable dresses you have every seen, from every hot designer you can think of. And isn't it just like life that Vivienne Westwood ends up donating her fabulously folded and layered dress for Carrie's real big day. Happens all the time! Well, maybe for Sarah Jessica Parker!
For Carrie & Big's Big day, the ever-classy Charlotte sports a dramatic black Zac Posen bridesmaid's dress with her hair pulled-back and the every classy bridesmaid accessory, pearl stud earrings. Miranda also looks stunning in a cobalt blue Zac Posen bridesmaid's gown, which accentuates her fantastic red hair. To top it off she plays it simple with a single pair of chandelier earrings as her only accessory.
Throughout the movie I was thoroughly impressed by the different earrings Cynthia Nixon is seen wearing. Because of her short coif -- longer, dangly earrings are the way to go, and match perfectly with her face shape. She can be seen wearing anything from simple yellow gold, to elaborate, black chandelier earrings.
Overall, the movie was seriously like watching one long, beautiful runway chock-full of every single fashion element that is currently the rage. At one point, they even go to the infamous fashion shows in Bryant Park so you can get a taste of, you got it, more fashion! If you're one who likes to be on top of the trends, your head will certainly be spinning after seeing this movie!

Sarah Jessica Parker - Stylishly Hot
Sarah Jessica Parker is Carrie Bradshaw in the ever famous series, Sex and the City. It might be quite hard to tell where Carrie Bradshaw's style stops and where Sarah Jessica Parker begins, but let us just be dazzled and surprised with the stylish outfits that she wears. She can pull off rainbow colored stilettos with little black dresses, or wearing a red carpet gown with shorts, or mixing a vintage gown with retro beads. She only proves that fashion rules are made to be broken.
On her casual days, we see Sarah Jessica wearing bootleg jeans with Juicy hoodies, but still not forgetting offbeat accessories like bright scarves, funky flats or IT bags. Her hair is much like her style, which is always changing. It can be naturally curly, or a beautiful stick straight hair, worn down or up in a funky updo. Her shade can go from brown to blonde and everything in between.
She loves her makeup to be bare and natural, making sure that her fabulous style is in the spotlight. If, however, she chooses to make an effort, she loves smoky eyes by using a smudged liner and a dark eye shadow.
If you want Sarah Jessica's look, go start with a base of classic outfits such as skinny jeans, blazers with neutral tops, and just add some oomph and pizzazz by layers such as dresses, pretty feminine camisoles and tunics. Just learn how to mix and match. Her rule of thumb is the more vibrant, the better.
