Tropicana Beauty Guide

Stand out on the dance floor this summer with Yourpower's hot beauty guide.

Beach hair
If you’re on holiday, start your hair prep during the day, says hairstylist and makeup artist Steven Ward. "Saturate hair with a non oily spray or texturising cream, like ( Redken UV rescue) and put in plaits. By the evening, you'll have tousled hair," he says.
“Brush it to make it fluffy, part in the middle and place two slides just above the ears. Now "backomb" with your fingers, holding strands taut and pushing hair up. The result is big, funky and girly. "

Glowing skin
"Summer skin should glow, not shine," says Steven, "especially” when you're dancing. What's the point of painstakingly mattifying your face, then getting hot and bothered doing the salsa?"

Make sure you moisturise after your evening shower, even if you don't normally. “The sun dries your skin out. Post-beach, it needs all the help it can get." Amp up your glow by smoothing a gold-flecked lotion like Glowminerals Globody Glisten, onto your shoulders and cheekbones too, and sparkle the night away.

Bright Colours
they are two tricks to make bright makeup work for anyone. "If you're pale, stick to sheer washes of colour, says Steven." "If not, use a punchy shade in just one area of the face like your eyes or lips."

When conditions are humid and sizzling, work with the heat, don't fight it. “Avoid waterproof products, they're a pain to take off!" he says. "Instead choose cream formulation that blend into the skin and give a glow. The result will be sexily smudgy."
